The Beauty of Volbella

The Beauty of Volbella
The Juvéderm (Allergan) family has welcomed its latest addition: Volbella®. Volbella is a hyaluronic acid (like Juvéderm) but is manufactured to be a soft and subtle addition to the line of products that addresses lips, fine lines, and subtle issues that require a gentle enhancement.
The look of Volbella is refined especially around the mouth where we tend to accumulate the dreaded “smoker’s lines”. The area does not get elevated so the platypus look is avoided and swelling is nearly non-existent. The lips are gently enhanced into a perfect pout, rather than a protruding trout. The luxurious feel of this new filler is heartily welcomed by all!

Anushka’s Style Experts Dish on How To Have Healthy Hair

Quit using your hot styling tools? Cut off a few inches? Cease coloring altogether? Most of us are simply not willing to give up our beauty routines in search of healthier hair. Anushka’s styling experts share insider secrets on how to regain the health of your hair without compromising the finish you crave.

The 48-Hour Rule
Taking showers every day is actually detrimental to hair. It promotes frizz and breakage of the hair shaft, while inhibiting the natural oils from nourish and protect the follicle. If you’re a daily washer, try to skip a day in between to let your hair re-generate itself. If you’ve got traditionally dry hair, you can go up to 4 days without washing with the help of a good hair cap. Keep hair fresh, light and fragrant with a dry shampoo. These formulations help to keep hair looking voluminous and offers additional hold for days. Try Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($44). Not only are the ingredients ultra-luxurious but the signature scent is intoxicating.
Prep Like A Pro
It’s critical to fully read the label of your beauty products and understand just how they should be used in order to take advantage of their full benefit. We’ve all been guilty of using too little, or too much of the recommended amount. Not only will you miss out on the awesome power of your products, but you may also be under-protecting hair, leading to further damage. Pro stylists use just the right amount of product to prep hair by picking up wet sections and spritzing (or evenly coating) the entire length, hitting all of the right angles, ensuring the formula is evenly distributed by combing through afterward. If you style often, make sure you’re using heat-protecting formulations, like those found in the Kérastase Discipline Collection. We recommend Spray Fluidissime ($42), a thermal-protecting spray that promises up to 72-hours of frizz prevention and offers heat protection up to 450 degrees. If you prefer a crème serum, try Keratin Thermique ($43), a priming crème with humidity and frizz inhibiting properties, that promises to reduce blowdry breakage by 85%.
Throw in the Towel
Nothing damages hair more than our sacred styling tools. While they work wonders – curling, bending, flattening, smoothing – all things we love and crave, they are also the culprit behind split, frazzled and dying ends. Consider what a difference it would make to cut down on using your blowdryer for just 5 minutes every time you styled. Start by removing more moisture post-shower by throwing in the towel, and patting hair with paper towels, or a cotton shirt. Believe it or not, these fabrics help wick away more moisture without putting unnecessary stress on the hair. Towel drying is more damaging to hair and can cause pressure on the follicle, which can make it more difficult to style. Not only will you save a few minutes every day getting the finish you want, but you’ll help hair get to a healthier place blowout by blowout.
Get To Great Lengths
There is a great compromise to styling hair and also wanting long, lush locks. So often, we over-process hair to the point where you eventually have to cut your losses and start fresh. Test out styling options that help you stay sans-heat. Try braiding towel-dried hair, leaving it in to dry overnight. Loosen in the morning for beautifully natural-looking waves. If you need more help going au-naturel, choose a weekend (especially if “scrunching” isn’t something you’ve done since high-school) and test-drive different formulations that offer texture and hold for curls, or oil-based smoothing solutions for loose waves. We love the all-natural products from Davines. These Italian-made formulations are amazing for sustaining naturally healthy, beautiful hair. Try products from the Authentic Collection, which are formulated with rich botanicals that truly nourish hair to a smooth, velvety finish. We recommend the Authentic Nourish Oil ($54), and their Authentic Moisturizing Balm ($32), a product that can universally deliver deep hydration to hair and be used as a moisturizer for the body.
If you’re looking for texture and control, check out Bumble & Bumble’s Curl Conscious Defining Cream ($29), which helps to sculpt curls without weighing down hair, or BB Gel ($26), which offers a little more hold without the tackiness characteristic of other formulas.
There is no loss to testing out different styling options, especially if it affords you a few more winks in the morning, and takes the heat off your hair for a bit. We love the idea of mixing up the options, especially if that means giving hair a well-deserved rest. You don’t have to stop using your “hot-tools” in order to have healthy hair, but exploring other options is a great way to mix up your look and invest some TLC into your style routine.

When the Eyes No Longer Have It

What do you do when you wake up one morning and suddenly you see all sorts of things that you “never had before”? Looking back at you are saggy, wrinkled, dark circled eyes that look like you lost out on a week of sleep, even though you just slept a full 8 hours. Out of all the areas to assess when looking in the mirror, the eyes are #1 as they are the area where everybody is going to look first (or should be looking first!).
What to do…
Dark Circles: Dark circles are caused by a variety of factors. One of the most common is a loss of volume under the eye near the lower lid. This is an area of loss that few people can escape, and it is not gender specific. No concealer or cream can fix this because the reflection of light is lost to a valley. The cheek has a nice reflection and the valleys or crevices have none, thereby making it appear dark. Restylane Silk® placed in this area is the ideal answer for this nearly universal problem. Make sure your practitioner has performed this treatment many, many times however before they work on you.
Crepey Skin and Lines: The area of the eyelid is one of the thinnest-skinned areas on the body. Continual movement from the eye muscles and loss of the tiny layer of fat under the skin contribute to this condition that simply makes one look older. A neuromodulator such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® will harness in the unnecessary eye muscle movement and decrease the lines. Using a retinoid (not an over-the-counter retinol) and making sure it gets up fairly close (but not in) the eye will help to generate newer, thicker skin. Newer skin always looks younger. Topping off with a great eye cream (one that “treats” rather than just moisturizes) will also help the retinoid do its job. Skin Medica’s TNS Eye Repair® or Glytone ® Antioxidant Eye Cream with caffeine and 0.1 Red Tea will work to keep the wrinkles away.
Sagging Lids: A little touch of a neuromodulator close to your brow can lift the eyelids a bit. For a more dramatic opening, treating the crow’s feet will accentuate the lift.

Age As Slow As A Snail

As time passes, it is inevitable for our skin to feel the effects of aging and sun damage.  Anushka Spa, Salon and Cosmedical Centre has found a way for you to effectively treat these skin issues from the convenience of your own home, using Biopelle Skincare Products.  Biopelle has discovered that snails can defend their skin from the sun’s powerful radiation by secreting growth factors and glycoproteins.  These special fluids can reverse the effects of damaged skin leaving you looking and feeling younger and more vibrant.

Now available at Anushka Spa Salon and Cosmedical Centre, Biopelle’s Tensage SCA Technology, does just this. This evolutionary product has proven to create firmer looking skin with renewed rejuvenation. It smoothens the appearance of fine lines, coarse wrinkles and increases hydration for softer skin. Also, it promotes faster recovery of skin from dermal procedures and helps skin damaged by photoaging. Anushka pairs Biopelle’s Tensage Intensive Serum 40 with Tensage Serum SCA 15 to achieve youthful, glowing skin that was once sun damaged and subject to aging.

How can I use these products at home to produce the best results? The Tensage Intensive Serum 40 contains 10 ampoules of treatment, apply one ampoule per day, after thoroughly cleansing your skin, for seven days.  Following each ampoule application, apply 1-3 pumps of Biopelle’s Tensage Serum SCA 15 over the affected area. Allow the Serum to sink into your skin. After your seven days of consecutive treatment, apply one ampoule weekly for 3 weeks, applying the Tensage Serum 15 afterwards. You may keep using monthly treatments until your desired results are achieved.

Beat The Heat Beauty

At Anushka, nestled in the heart of the Palm Beaches, it’s not just hot in the summer months: it’s sweltering. And let’s “face” it, beauty takes a back seat to soaring temperatures, unrelenting humidity and the sun’s beating rays. But, the Anushka experts, who have over 40 years in the beauty biz, have the answers to keeping your cool summer look alive and well. In fact, many of the tips we heard encouraged our beach babes to work with the heat instead of against it. Check out our top tips from our own experts.

“To preserve your beautiful color, before swimming in a chlorinated pool, rinse with cool water. Believe it or not, hair will not be able to absorb chlorine when it is first wet!” says Anushka’s Shawn Butner, Master Colorist, who is also an expert artist in Balayage Color Treatment. To tame your tresses, opt for a Keratin Blowout ($199 and up), a less intense “smoothing” option which helps for those who want a “little help” in the summer months to ward off the inevitable humidity.

The natural elements of Summer: Sun, wind and surf, dehydrate hair so visit your stylist for a restorative conditioning treatment (we recommend Kerastase, $38) or opt for a rich formula at your beauty supply store. To keep the “beach wave” look alive, try a texturizing spray, like Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray ($26), which is a favorite of our Master Stylist, Celete Salas, who’s styling techniques are so in demand, her clients to fly her halfway across the world for a cut and blowout!

For the face, we asked Makeup Artist, Aesthetician and Lashologist, Ellie Malmin, for her go-to summer beauty tips. “Make summer beauty a breeze by choosing the right makeup and treatments that last long into late summer nights and give you the ultimate freedom.”

Start with eyelash and brow extensions, which are naturally waterproof and look like your very own. This ultra low maintenance solution will make you say “so long” to your eye pencil by brightening the eyes from sun up to sundown, and last up to 3 weeks! ($250 and up for a full set). Add a brow or lash tint for and easy, semi-permanent look you won’t have to touch up for weeks!

Opt for face makeup that is ultra sheer and youthful to compliment your easy breezy summer look. For all day coverage, try an airbrush makeup solution that will withstand the heat and water. Finally, finish with a sheer plumping lip gloss for a perfect pout.

For nutrition and body, we went right to the guru herself, Anushka, who has been reshaping women and men from the inside out since 1974. Her ultimate juice is a must to look swimsuit sexy this summer.

“As far as beauty goes, we often neglect the most foundational part, which is what goes IN first! Start your day off right by powering up your vitamin, mineral and antioxidant intake by swishing down a super smoothie! Anushka recommend her Beauty Detox Smoothie. Start with 2 cups of water and add: 4-5 cups of baby spinach (fresh), 4-5 cups of arugula or kale, 3 medium celery stalks, 2 squirts lemon juice, 2 rings fresh pineapple, 1 medium banana, and 10-16 drops of stevia.

“Beauty is a reflection of inner health and wellbeing. It is harmony and balance: a delicate relationship between spiritual, emotional and physical aspects to bring your best features forward and express a healthy appearance and attitude.”, says Anushka.

Beauty Through The Ages

There are radiant rewards to maintaining proper skincare throughout your adult life. The pursuit of a perfect complexion may be just at the end of a well thought out routine that evolves with age. The key is to start early and continue concentrating on maintaining a healthy skincare routine as your body and environment changes. While we are consummately searching for the fountain of youth, at times in the eye of a needle, there are plenty of highly advanced topical products and techniques that can help you avoid invasive anti-aging procedures and help your skin live a longer, healthier and happier life.

Tackling Your 20’s

It’s never too early to begin a youth-retaining skin regimen. You should be cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing your skin regularly to maintain the healthiest complexion – not just at night – but also in the morning. Choose products that are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins. During this time, when you may be more likely to be lurking late into the early morning hours rather than catching up on beauty sleep, don’t let your habits affect your beauty regimen: never go to sleep with your make up on! This bad behavior wreaks havoc on your skin, blocking pores with trapped oil and dirt leading to breakouts. Start searching for an aesthetician during this time to visit once a month. Like any other doctor, a licensed aesthetician will be able to give you a personal prescription for your very own skincare routine. Visiting them once a month will help to maintain the beauty of your skin and will help you to tackle challenges as they arise.

Thriving 30’s

Exfoliation becomes more essential at this stage, when you skin texture begins to change. The formation of lines appear at this time too, so exfoliating is especially important as this will help to reduce the appearance of those lines. Exfoliating will also help to diminish skin discolorations, which will become more prevalent as your skin is exposed to more years of environmental hazards. In addition, hormones and pregnancy can dramatically change your skins tone and texture during this time. Adopt products loaded with vitamins and collagen. Go to the experts and book a light peel at your doctor or aestheticians office to help firm your skin and reduce the appearance of lines.

Fabulous 40’s

In this stage, you need to be concerned with defending your skin from environmental influences and what has become the result of natural aging. You may notice that the lines around your eyes and mouth don’t disappear as they used to. Keep certain ingredients in mind that promote firmness, elasticity and collagen like retinol, retinyl palmitate, soy, wheat protein, marine algae and peptides. Ask your aesthetician about adding a growth factor to your routine to help slow down the aging of skin cells as well. For instant firming, check out techniques on how to give yourself a rejuvenating at-home facial massage. This technique will naturally help to firm the skin and tone up the underlying muscles and tissue. Plus, is feels incredibly wonderful, too!

Fruitful 50’s

When many people have decided that damage cannot be reversed, we defiantly proclaim that it is in your 50’s when some of sciences best anti-aging regimens can be used to rewind the clock and keep your skin looking youthful and resilient. Powerful anti-aging potions include ingredients such as peptides, retinoids, alpha hydroxy and amino acids, which can remove damage from the past and radically slow down the aging process. Add a peptide-rich serum under your SPF daily to help build collagen. A hyaluronic acid will help to lock in well needed moisture as well. At night, apply a retinoid before your moisturizer and ask your doctor or aesthetician about a product that contains phytoestrogen; an ingredient that helps with hormonal aging.

What we should all know, regardless of age, is that 80% of what makes us look older comes from sun damage. Protect your skin daily with at least an SPF 15 moisturizer which contains zinc or titanium oxide. If you don’t already have one, find an aesthetician you love who can give you the best advice for your skin. Finally, don’t smoke and keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water. These two things alone will help to keep your skin looking luminescent and youthful, while helping your body remain hydrated and healthy.

Forever You-th: Radical Anti-Aging that is Scientific, Safe & Stunning

Celebrities have long been apt to the latest youth-restoring treatments. In fact, many of us turn to them to vicariously test out the claims of new anti-aging techniques. But lately, something has changed. The over-puffy, super stretched faces of old have been replaced with remarkably beautiful and enviable results.

Experts Notate Madonna's Exquisitely Youthful FeaturesStars like Madonna, Demi Moore and Michelle Phieffer, who have all “allegedly” used aesthetic treatments for years, are looking decidedly stunning. Perhaps even better than their natural, younger selves. These ladies, each of which are well into their 50’s now, have somehow escaped the over-plumped, stretched cat-face appearance (think Joan Rivers) that has made stars look undoubtedly “old” for years. And we’re curious to know what this new treatment is.

In the grand scheme of things, injectables have only been around in our popular culture since the early 2000’s, when women were illuminated by the wrinkle-eliminating powers of BOTOX. Since then, the aesthetic industry has experienced an abundant growth of products and treatments to reduce the signs of aging. It’s taken time to figure out the right combination of treatments to produce natural-looking and safe treatments, but it appears we’ve gotten there.

The result has been dubbed “The Liquid Face Lift”, performed in under 30 minutes with no cutting or downtime from the use of temporary, reversible fillers. And the truth is, the results are outstanding. Never have patients had the opportunity to not only look younger, but qualified experts in the field are remodeling the faces of their patients to be more aesthetically beautiful.

Injectable Diagram: Liquid FaceliftTo explain the science behind this procedure, also known as the “Y-Lift”, it’s important to understand how the face atrophies over time. Dr. Bonnie Marting, Medical Director at the famed Anushka Cosmedical Centre, explains the various age signs. “The face thins out in 3 distinct ways with age: collagen naturally dissipates under the skin, muscles atrophy and bone density diminishes. The result is a major loss of volume around the cheekbones, sagging of the jawline, hollows around the eyes and an overall submission to gravity”, explains Dr. Marting.

The liquid facelift first utilizes the power of Voluma, a hyaluronic acid, by placing it strategically under the cheekbones to, as she says, “lift my patients up when time and gravity has brought them down”. Dr. Marting combines Voluma’s power of lift with the collagen-building agents found in Sculptra, a poly-L-lactic acid. This product effectively rejuvenates a person’s face from the inside out, over time building fresh, healthy collagen in places it has been lost to age.

The art, however, is combining these hero serums with the properly trained practitioner, who understands the scientific nature of beauty. About 10 years ago, scientists uncovered a few formulas for beauty. One is known as the divine ratio, or Phi (1 to 1.618) because it is found in so many naturally occurring benchmarks of beauty. The right practitioner will notice this when, for example, filling in the upper and lower lip. The second is the theory of Y, which identifies that the face is at it’s most ideal when there is an 81° curve between the center of the chin and outer edge of the jawline (this is also referenced as a “heart shaped” face).

Dr. Marting explains that “The liquid facelift lasts between 15 months and 2 years for most patients”, which long enough to be worth the $2,000-$3,000 cost but short enough to dissipate if a patient wants to pursue other anti-aging treatments that the future of science may hold.

Getting back to our celebrity muses, it certainly gives us a lot of confidence to try out the latest cosmedical cures knowing the results are remarkable at turning back time, as well as being reversible. Let’s not forget that just a few years ago the only option was a very invasive, irreversible facelift that was recognizable to practically anyone. Also, anti-aging injectables give us the chance to start turning back the clock at a much younger age than ever before. I’m confident we’ve embarked on a new generation of women and men who will all benefit from this discovery of “preventative aging”.

Anushka’s experts share summer beauty tips and DIY tricks to protect your hair from the elements of summer and create easy, elegant styles in a snap.

Dissolve 1 teaspoon of sea salt into 1 cup of hot water. Mix 1 teaspoon of coconut oil with 1 tablespoon of hair gel. Add 1 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon (depending on how dry your hair is). Whisk together, pour into a bottle and enjoy Hawaiian tropic tresses.

2. Create An Easy, Elegant Updo With Just A Headband

Create an enchanting updo on the run with just a headband

Place a headband on, preferably with an elastic band that holds tight onto the back side of your head. Simply begin picking up 1 inch thick sections or so and tucking them up and around the bottom of the headband until it is all secured up and away from your neck. This style is also a great way to achieve beach curls when assembled with damp hair first.

3. Protect Your Hair From Damaging Chlorine With…Tap Water?

Just add water to protect your hair from chlorine

Just add water to protect your hair from chlorine

Believe it or not, by simply rinsing your hair off before you hit the pool, you’ll be able to ward off hair-destroying toxins like chlorine. Why? Your porous hair will soak up the water first, which will help deter it from soaking in the pool water afterward. Beauty experts also mention that spraying a leave in conditioner (when your shower or smartwater is out of reach) for the same protective power.

4. Choose The Right Products To Fight Off Summer’s Elements

The Anushka Spathecary carries a variety of sulfate and alcohol-free products shop.anushkaspa.com

When hair becomes dry, it soaks up the moisture in the atmosphere, causing frizzy ends and drying the cuticle. Properly hydrating your hair with the right, specifically engineered hair products will help prevent this and leave you with sleek strands through the heat of the summer. Choose products with the following callouts: hydrating, anti-humidity, sulfate-free, UV protection, and alcohol-free. Speaking of alcohol, not only is it bad for your body but it wreaks havoc on your hair!

5. Sun Powered Conditioning Masque

Anushka recommends restorative masques from Oribe, Davines and Kerastase

While we don’t recommend over exposing your hair and scalp to the suns powerful rays, but there is a way to take advantage of that energy to give you more hydrated hair. Create your own “Sun Masque” by using a well-engineered, deep conditioning treatment, like Davines’ “NouNou” ($37 for 9oz.). This nourishing masque will help to repair dry, processed or brittle hair with active ingredients like tomato extract formulated in Italy.

6. Elegant Updo: Upside Down French Braid Ballerina Bun

This style is perfect after you've left the beach, when hair is easy to style infused with salt from the sea!

This style is perfect after you’ve left the beach, when hair is easy to style infused with salt from the sea!

Create this gorgeous updo easily with damp hair or 2-3 day old hair for the right hold (also works great after the beach when the sun and sweat has made your hair perfect for styling!)

    1. Flip head upside down and comb upward, removing hair from the neck
    2. Select a section of hair at the nape of the neck and separate it into 3 pieces
    3. Criss cross the sections like a regular braid, and afterward, beginning from one side, grab additional hair from each side of the braid and twist together again (do not add hair to the center piece.
    4. Continue this until you reach the crown of the head
    5. Gather ALL of the hair and tie into a high pony tail
    6. Using a chignon or your own version, create a bun around the base of the pony tail

7. SPF: Scalp Protecting Formulas

Create your own hair SPF by mixing sunscreen and water into a spray bottle.

SPF for your hair is often overlooked. In order to maintain the integrity of your color and to preserve the moisture in your hair, beauty experts across the globe recommend you add a hair SPF into your beach bag. If you’re not able to purchase a fancy version, or are short on time, simply mix a bit of sunscreen with some water into a spray bottle and voila.

8. Cooling Shampoos & Conditioners

Choose products with peppermint, green tea mint or aloe for a refreshing experience.

Choose products with peppermint, green tea mint or aloe for a refreshing experience.

What could be more enjoyable in the heat of the summer than experiencing the cooling power of peppermint and tea tree extracts in your shampoo? There are a number of very well made shampoos, conditioners and body washes that are rich in effervescent ingredients, opening up your pores and senses after a long day in the heat. We recommend Organix Tea Tree Mint Shampoo, which you can snag at any Whole Foods Store.

Vanity & Vice: Reclaiming Environmentally Damaged Skin

Our mother’s gave us a lot of advice when we were younger like “Don’t lay out in the sun” or “Don’t smoke cigarettes” because the long term effects caused irreversible damage to our internal and external organs like sun spots, cancer and signs of early aging. So we listened (for the most part). But we live in an industrially advanced era where exposure to harmful pollutants and even the sun’s rays, despite our efforts to combat the exposure, is striping us of the natural beauty we were born with. Then add in the occasional vice like a day at the beach or extra cosmo and suddenly you’re at war with your skin!girl-lounging-with-sunblock

But like modern day heroes, skincare scientists have trail blazed highly advanced methods to treat damaged skin, improve imperfections, reverse signs of aging and give you younger looking and acting skin.

At the Anushka Cosmedical Centre, we offer the most advanced methods to combat damaged skin from topical remedies to intensive restoring solutions. First you should identify what exactly you are in need of targeting. Indications of damaged skin include sunspots, rosacea, freckles, certain beauty marks and moles as well as tell-tale signs of aging like wrinkled or crepey lines and waxy skin.

Anushka’s Medical Director, Dr. Bonnie Marting, recommends a non-invasive laser treatment that will, in 1 sitting, dramatically reverse the appearance of sun damaged and aged skin. This is called the IPL Photorejuvenation Treatment ($350 Per Session) featuring the LimeLight® by Cutera. This versatile, state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light system can treat most skin types (types I through IV) to remove sun damage, age spots and vascular lesions to tighten and refine pores. Treatment areas include the face, face & neck, Décolleté, hands and arms. Series pricing available upon request.

For deeper restoration (clients requiring a more intense level of rejuvenation or wrinkle repair), Dr. Marting recommends the Pearl Treatment ($1,000 Per Treatment). Laser resurfacing has long been the gold standard treatment for uneven pigmentation and skin texture. The Pearl Laser will renew your skin’s surface with quick, visible results. Pearl treats fine lines on the face and neck, uneven skin texture and light and dark spots caused by sun damage. During a Pearl treatment, the top layer of the skin is treated with pulses of light. A portion of the epidermis (skin surface) is gently removed and a natural protective dressing is formed on the skin’s surface. Most patients feel a series of brief pinches during the treatments. After 3-4 days, the protective dressing peels off revealing new, healthy, vibrant skin underneath. The Pearl laser replaces the entire top sun-damaged layer of the skin with new healthy skin. Simultaneously, it sends heat to deeper layers of the skin stimulating new collagen growth, filling out and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. New collagen growth continues for 4-6 weeks post-treatment. The combination of new skin and decreased wrinkles results in a healthier, more youthful appearance.

Dr. Marting recommends a topical regimen following any of these treatments to maintain restored skin. First, she recommends using SkinMedica’s Lytera, a skin brightening and lightening treatment that helps diminish the appearance of dark spots and restores the radiance of your skin ($125 for 2 oz.).

It’s important to note that renewing your skin cells with the right topical regimen will help maintain skin’s youth because the production of new cell growth helps maintain the skin’s collagen and replaces dead surface cells. Retinol achieves this perfectly. Dr. Marting recommends Retinol Complex from SkinMedica ($90 1oz.) which will turn over skin cells and promote your skin’s youthful lifespan.

Finally, the most important element to add to your skincare regimen, especially after an IPL or Pearl treatment to maintain your results, is a high-performing SPF. We recommend TiZO2 Age Defying Fusion 40 SPF ($38.50 1.5oz) broad spectrum.

Preventing sun exposure and high levels of pollution from entering your body to begin with will help keep your skin looking and feeling youthful much longer than unprotected skin. So like mom said, start taking care of your skin health from a young age. You’ll really appreciate it in the years to come. Also, if you do receive a skin treatment, the new surface cells are extremely vulnerable to being damaged again, and to the same degree as before if the skin is not protected by a clinically proven SPF. So for those of us who have opted for revitalizing treatments, make sure to protect yourself properly after any skin renewing treatment by consulting your aesthetician.
